That is so very true.  The cathartic effects of a sound beating, for both Master and slave, cannot be denied either.  Had anyone told me a bit over a year ago that i would get positively cranky and anxious after going a while without a beating, i would have told them they were out of their minds.  Yet i do just that — and i have been terribly out of sorts these last days. 

i suspect there is a bit of a double standard that it’s okay for submissives and slaves to openly claim (within a community of those who understand) to want/need to receive a beating as opposed to a dominant saying they need to administer one.  i have come to learn that the needs run deep on both sides.

Yes, i suppose a dom could go out to the garage and flog, whip and otherwise expend his energies on an inanimate object.  However, what i have found with many dominants i have spoken with — it’s not the act alone that feeds their need — it is their ability to craft and direct reactions.  i have come to use that as my measure of a good dominant.
